Overview
The Shepherd RTLS is an automated
real-time locating and monitoring system for asset and personnel
tracking. The system is based on the use of miniature active RFID tags
called TeleTags which are attached to assets or carried by personnel and
provide on-going connection to Shepherd Access Points. From there
information is sent via Wi-Fi routers to the system’s Monitor and
Control Station.
The 0.7 ounces 0.196 inch thick
TeleTags are ideally suited for noninvasive functions including
organizational ID badges. They offer superior capabilities which
passive RFID tags do not such as the ability to monitor assets or
personnel without requiring them to enter or exit through specific
doors. The TeleTag contains a built-in motion detector, temperature
sensor, push button alert and an alert LED which can be programmed
according to user needs. Shepherd Access Points are small devices with
rechargeable batteries which can be used in any building configuration
and be placed anywhere in a room. They are designed to be easily
integrated into existing infrastructure.
The Shepherd RTLS is scalable and
can easily expand to track numerous assets or personnel across multiple
locations. The system design supports rapid deployment and can be used
in a pre-configured building or at temporary relocations. A
user-friendly web-enabled interface with a relational database makes
tracking easy.
